Screenr and Wix: Creating a hotspot quiz question.

I read about Screenr by Articulate today via the RSS from Gabe at Articulates blog. So I thought I would test it out and kill two birds with one stone by showing how to make a hotspot type of quiz question using WixThe exercise took a little longer than expected because I had a Firefox crash during my first attempt and then I realised there was no editing in the Screenr screen cast tool so it took me a few takes to get the ball rolling. Also, the five minute time limit meant that I had to do two screencasts to get the whole video in. I know there are a few umms and ahhs that I would edit out if I had the time or inclination when using a more comprehensive screencast tool like Camtasia studio. Having said all that though, Screenr is super simple and quite like Jing was in it's early stages. I like the twitter and Youtube linkins that come with Screenr. Screenr also creates an iPhone version of the video automatically! Noice work Articulate guys :)

I love that Wix is so flexible and funky and has so many cool features like being able to directly search for Youtube videos and Flickr images. I have found difficulties with trying to upload and embed swf files that are in Action Script 2 but this is a small con compared with all of those pros. I plan on making some more of these howto videos for some other question types and adding in some other functionality to Wix widgets.
