E-learning Project Connect

Connecting e-learning jobs, e-learning projects, and e-learning professionals.

Urszula sent this message out today and I thought it may be better here as a discussion topic:

Hi all,

I have been trying to find how Moodle can be used as a Webinar (or IF it can).

Has anyone had any experience with setting this up?

Thanks in advance

There is a bridge between Elluminate and Moodle that will allow you to use Elluminate from within Moodle, provided you have all the requisite licenses.

Wimba Live Classroom is enabled in the EdNA groups and you can add it to a course in that Moodle if you have course owner rights.

Some of the other Wimba products are also located there but I have not had much luck with them - however the webconferencing tool works fine.

You could also use Adobe Connect Pro (now has a free 3 person classroom like Elluminate) or either WizIQ or DimDim - both free - DimDim being slightly better. All three products have a Moodle bridge so you can set up the meeting as a Moodle activity.

Hi, talking about video conferencing, I hear that didm dim is etting very popular amongst the Moodle community. But, how can you set up the videoconf. as moodle activity? Do you need to have dim dim as plug in ? In the university where i work we can only use dim dim as a separate tool from Moodle..is there anything i am missing here?
thanks
Antonella
