Happy birthday to us!

E-learning Project connect is now one year old, Edayz09 is over and the dust is settling so I thought it must be time to update this page and attempt to stimulate the community here into some sharing and discussion.

I realise that there other more activity ning sites centred on e-learning but this one has a special remit for me which is to enable people to share information about upcoming projects or jobs that they have seen or heard about. To this end the success has been fairly good over the past year but I think it could certainly be improved on. As part of this push to share e-learning knowledge and projects I have been brewing up a little idea and have talked in person to a few people about it but I think it is now time to go public and see if there may be more people interested in becoming a part of an exciting idea.

I am looking at forming an organisation or a collaborative consultancy to provide mentoring, learning consulting technical guidance and web2.0 knowledge to organisations, RTO's corporations and schools. I need some people like you folks to join in the conversation about the direction it should take and be involved in the formation of that new entity from the ground up. If you are thinking about a move from your current position and thinking about going it alone, then why not be a part of a completely new and innovative learning collaborative. I have some ideas about directions I want to go but I need some people to take ownership with me.

If you are interested in having some discussions please go to this google form and add your details.

E-learning Consultancy Network

Rhyss you must have been on my wavelength! I think that I would indeed like to be part of a consultancy network and the title of this blog is what I would suggest we call it.

We, are few colleagues and consultants, including you Rhyss, have already formed a little network and we currently operate out of the Flying e Squad. So far this has been sporadic in activity although a few little jobs have been coming our way in that Ning network… Continue

Second Life Terms of Service. A closer look.

I have spent the last few weeks immersed in Second Life as part of a uni assignment and also connected with the Tabor Adelaide iYouth Project. The experience was very interesting and fun the purpose was to create a Machinima that focuses on the SL TOS.

How often do you click through the TOS and agree to something you have never read? Or asked your students to sign up to something and not given them time to read the TOS?

Here is the final result, I would be keen to hear what you think about it!… Continue

Screenr and Wix: Creating a hotspot quiz question.

I read about Screenr by Articulate today via the RSS from Gabe at Articulates blog. So I thought I would test it out and kill two birds with one stone by showing how to make a hotspot type of quiz question using WixThe exercise took a little longer than expected because I had a Firefox crash during my first attempt and then I realised there was no editing in the Screenr screen cast tool so it took me a… Continue

A new leaf a new beginning

Hi Folks,

It has been some time since I have made some solid contributions here. Well the fact of the matter is, I have been a bit up in the air career wise and it has resulted in a redundancy package. A bit crappy I know, I have become a statistic of the GFC but hey… Continue
